Cubism lives up to the standards of all the other Movements in Modern Art series I have collected. Plenty of colour plates and David Cottington is an excellent writer who weaves artist/painting information throughout the entire book.

By this I mean don't just read one chapter for one aspect of the art because he often returns to an artist or /5(10). This book's strength and weakness is it's brevity. I don't own many books of similar size to compare it to.

This book seeks to give a one page description of the movement, then a typical colour painting or art object. A few get more paintings. The colour illustrations are very good. The strength of the book is it's brevity/5(11).
